My Everyday Makeup Routine

Sooooooooo…. I am sure you have noticed some changes around these parts! More like A LOT of changes…

Y’all….

#1…. Kingdom of Sequins got an upgrade!! This has been way over due for awhile but I finally found the right look and logo that totally gives me life! I worked with Designer Blogs to help with everything from start to finish! I felt like the whole time they got my vibe and totally knew where I wanted to take the look…. so glad I finally pulled the trigger.

On top of the blog revamp, as some of you know this week was back to school and my son started Kindergarten yesterday (hence my lack of posts lately)! I have been getting mentally, emotionally and physically prepared for this week so my all my energy was put towards making sure he was all set! And he totally LOVED it y’all! I couldn’t be happier with his teacher and his school! Reason why moved to BFE! 🙂

Ok so now to today’s post…. which has been long over due and overly-requested! I am sharing my daily makeup routine with you. I shared a quick LIVE story on IG a couple weeks ago that was totally un-expected and un-organized lol – but I did have several questions regarding products so I wanted to be sure I shared everything in a full blog post!

Step 1: Primer – Not pictured, Elf Hydrating Primer

Step 2: Concealer, Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer

Blend concealer with a beauty blender all over face.

Step 3: Foundation, IT Cosmetics CC Cream

Blend foundation with foundation brush all over face.

Step 4: Powder/Bronzer, Butter Bronzer

Blend powder with powder brush all over face and neck.

Step 5: Contour, Art Deco / Wet N Wild Contour

Start with powder/highlight under your eyes, down the center of nose, on the chin and center of forehead.

Bronzer on cheeks, sides of forehead and jawbone.

Contour Tip: Pinch end of brush, dab in bronzer and lightly go down both sides of center of nose. Blend.

Step 6: Highlight, Makeup Revolution

Use an eyeshadow brush and highlight the cheeks right above the bronzer.

Highlight down the center of the nose and right above the eyebrows.

Step 7: Extra Highlight, Sonia Kashuk

Makeup Brushes – Best Brushes Ever!!! 🙂

summer makeup routine

Step 8: Eyeshadow, Tarte Palette

Use the arched eyeshadow brush and the light purple to put in the crease of the lid.

Next take the crease/blend brush and blend a darker, maroon color in the outer crease.

Use a concealer brush and use the white shadow to put on brow line, lower lid and undereye.

Step 9: Eyeliner, Elf Eyeliner

Pull eyelid out and start a line from the inner eye all the out to form a wing. Go back over with another coat.

Step 10: White Eye Liner, NYX Jumbo Pencil (Milk)

Line on waterline to make eyes pop.

Step 11: Mascara, Rimmel Scandal-Eyes (Holy Grail)

I am no beauty expert or YouTube guru. These are products I have tested and really find that work the best for my every day makeup routine. If I am going to an event or even date night, I will do a more dramatic look with other products. I also believe you can find more affordable products from the drug store that give you the same affect as the higher end products. However, I do invest more in the eyeshadow palettes. I slightly have an obsession with them. The Tarte Palette I use everyday has lasted me about 6 months! Thats amazing!

Have an awesome week friends! 🙂

Fall Floral Midi-Dress

Happy Happy Monday Y’all!!

We are already mid August and I swear this year is literally flying by! We had a jam-packed weekend full of go, go, go and I am sitting here trying to even remember what we did lol – lets just say most of it revolved around my child. Yesterday, we decided to go to the Ranger Game which was great to get away and just enjoy each other for the day! Every weekend, ts usually one of us that is either taking him to a birthday party or driving him to baseball/basketball practice. We took the time to just do a family day and enjoy each other!

But I did wanna share this amazing dress that I shared on Insta this past weekend. Oh yes and these over-the-knee boots that I think everyone needs for fall!

I mentioned in my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale post that a fall floral dress is a must-have. Well, I’m backing that statement up with today’s post! I finally found the perfect floral print dress! I’m normally not attracted to these types of dresses but the floral print of this one was just calling my name! It also has a very 70’s vibe – especially with the choker neckline– which is trending right now!!! And y’all these boots.… O.M.G!!!  I have been looking for the most perfect OTK boots for fall and I brought home so many that did not work. I ordered these from Nordstrom Rack and they are under $80! The color is so perfect for all things fall! I shared them on Insta-Stories and had mentioned they were a little tight on my calves. Since wearing them, they have actually stretched out and are super comfy! They are a MUST!

One more thing that I am pretty excited about…. I am re-vamping the blog layout! All of it! I think it is time for a new look and I want something a little more professional looking but still shows all the KingdomofSequins personality! The company I am working with sent me a preview of the logo and I almost DIED! I can’t wait for y’all to see it! Its looking so good and gets me so excited! Stay tuned to a new layout by next week.. (hopefully)!!! 🙂

Have a great week y’all!

Brittany 🙂

Back To School Style With Target

And just like that….Summer is coming to an end.

Kids are gearing up to go back to school and I am over here like… Noooooo!!!!! My 5 year old starts Kindergarten this year and I am slightly not ready for this. He has been in daycare/Pre-K and I know he loves it but this momma just doesnt wan to let go of my “baby”! Kindergarten is such a great transition in their lives and he will totally love it. On the first day of school, you can find me with a mimosa in hand while soaking in these moments,

Speaking of this little man and his style, he is all about comfort over style. He is such an active little boy, he prefers active wear over anything. And the few times I put him in nicer pants, he immediatly says.. “Really Mom?”… and I cant help but laugh. Since he is will be in public school, he doesn’t really have a choice. When I brought home a new wardrobe, he was actually pretty pumped towear it! I wanted to share some “Back To School” inspiration from one of my favorite stores… TARGET!!!

Cat & Jack is one of my favorite brands at Target I was so excited to get Ridge a little back to school outfit for this upcoming school year! Their clothes are the cutest and always super trendy. This star button up tee caught my eye the second I saw it and its on major sale for $7!! STEAL! This shirt is actually super soft and these shorts were totally screaming BUY ME! The second we got home he put these shorts on and walked around the house “showing off!” These shoes were the hardest to get him to wear. He is all about his Nike tennis shoes and these casual low tops didnt come off his feet.  These will last the whole year! I am hoping this outfit stays on repeat though this school year!

What are your favorite back to school styles?

Brittany 🙂

Huge Instagram Roundup

Happy Monday y’a;ll!!

We had a fun-filled weekend full of family and never ending crazyness! My inlaws were in town from Odessa (6 hours away) and it was really a nice change of pace. My 2 nephews totally kept Ridge entertained and on his toes. His friends seem to all be mostly female friends (which is totally fine) but you could tell he was in his element just hanging out with the boys. It was great to see his interact with his cousins.

It has been awhile since I have done an Insta-Roundup so I figured I would link all my favorite pieces for the whole summer! Snag them while you can before they are gone!

How are we already 2 days into August?!? Summer is flying by and fall will be here before you know it! I am not complaining one bit… I LIVE for all things FALL!!! 🙂

Speaking of fall, there are only a couple days left to take advantage of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Even though there are quite a few items that are sold out and sadly haven’t been restocked they still have some really cute must haves that are still in stock. I already shared my top NSALE picks in this blog post here but some of these I had to go back for myself like this Suede Moto Jacket, seriously I couldn’t resist, it’s just too good to pass up at this price and I have a feeling grey is going to be big in the fall. It has been selling out within minutes of being restocked so if you are really wanting this jacket, I suggest stalking it every hour 🙂

Time is ticking.. Dont wait to grab some of the hottest sale items of the season!
