Birthday Weekend/Christmas Party

I dont know how I am still alive and breathing after this past weekend…. OMG!!! Going on my third cup of coffee bc well… its Monday!

Turning 30 was amazing, our company Christmas party was a success and my son turned 4 TODAY!!!! It was a struggle getting up this morning and going back to work but looking back on the celebrations, I am so blessed! My mom, husband and one of my best friends surprised me with dinner at Jake’s (best hamburgers EVER) and then we celebrated at one of my favorite bars afterwards.

It was a blast and I am pretty sure I drank the entire bar…. My actual birthday was Saturday so I woke up not feeling too well. Needed some greasy breakfast and a large coffee!!! We had our company Christmas party that night that I was actually organizing so I had to pull myself together and get some energy from somewhere. It was an ugly sweater party and everyone looked awesome! I only got a couple pictures of my sweater as I was running around like crazy at the dinner making sure everything was perfect!

We all had a great time and everything went off without a hitch. (Thankfully!!) Waking up Sunday was a struggle… BUT it was my son’s 4th birthday party so momma didnt have time to be hungover or tired. AND it was a SUPERHERO party at that!!!! We had masks, capes, birthday cake, jumping on trampolines, bounce houses and all of the fun kid stuff!!! Everything for his party was PERFECT (thank god) and I could not have asked for a better celebration weekend!

I can not believe four years ago I was in labor and my whole world changed forever. Being a mommy is the greatest blessing ever and he is my obsession!

He crashed without mommy turning off his light or reading to him…. And mommy was shortly after him πŸ™‚

I had these pictures taken for his invitations and I am totally obsessed!!!

Another year in the books for these amazing celebrations and we have my husbands birthday celebration Friday. I am going to Atlanta for a BFF girls trip this weekend…. I might need to take a day off just to recover!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend and a quiet Monday. What were the highlights of your weekend?

Sequins are all the rage this holiday season!!! And I am picking my top favs from H&M… I mean what is better than sequins that dont cost a fortune?!?!?! I am an avid H&M shopper and I usually buy my jeans from there but I have to say they have definitely stepped up their sparkle game. I have not seen this much bling from them and I am LOVING it!!! WE are celebrating my 30th birthday this weekend and I am thinking about rocking this sparkly green dress or the aztec skirt. Or I might just buy all of these…. πŸ™‚

Top Pick Tuesday – Plaid Poncho

Plaid + poncho + perfect temps = Sweater Weather Heaven!!!!

FullSizeRender (3)

I am super obsessed with poncho’s and ANYTHING plaid right now! I found this amazing buffalo plaid poncho from MarshallsΒ for $30 and I literally could wear it everyday! They have amazing everyday winter attire at affordable prices. We had cooler temps last week so this was the perfect piece to keep warm and not burn up later in the day. I paired it with jeans and black boots for a more casual look.

I found similar ponchos and blanket scarves below that would be perfect for that chilly day.

SheInside Plaid Tassel Cape $25
One Faith Boutique Poncho $38

Lucca Lane Buffalo Plaid Poncho $36

I styled this amazing Mirina necklace with the outfit which helped glam it up. I LOVE anything that sparkles and these necklaces are perfect for a touch of bling. The one I am wearing is Andy and it goes with everything! If you are interested in being a #Mirinagirl, check out their ambassador page here.

Funny story about this poncho:

I took my son to get donuts last Friday and when we walked in the owners said “Y’all are twins today!”… I looked over at him and without even noticing we are TWINS!!!! He was wearing his red plaid jacket from Target that looks exactly like the poncho πŸ™‚

Of course we had to take a twin #selfie… and I did not tell him to pose like this. Lol – “Say cheese” and this is what I got πŸ™‚

This amazing poncho is my top pick of the week for sure and you should totally check out Marshalls if you live close to one. I always find amazing, good quality pieces for great prices!

What are some of your favorite winter pieces right now? I would love to hear what trends you are loving? πŸ™‚

10 mile run/ Turning 30!!!!!

Happy Saturday!!!! We are now 3 weeks out from CHRISTMAS …. And one week out from my 30th birthday!!!! It is really starting to sink in now that I have ONE week left in my 20’s. WOW! But I do have to say I have done so much already and achieved so many goals I set for myself 10 years ago. I am so happy with the person I am today and all the blessings in my life. I think I am going to do something special everyday next week to celebrate my 20’s so stay tuned….:)

Ok enough mushy talk, one goal I set for myself back in September was to run 10 miles by the end of the year…. And this morning I told myself THIS IS IT! I woke up feeling amazing and the weather was perfect! I LOVE running in the cold because it helps me feel revived and sweat less (obviously)… I knew this was the day I was going to make it happen!

I am not a fast runner so time for me is not what I focus on… I am more of a jogger and I usually like to keep the same pace the whole time. Knowing it was going to be a long run, I kept a slight jog pace. When I got to mile 9, I knew this was the homestretch and I only have one more to go!! When I hit 10 miles, I felt amazing! And…. I didn’t even stop once! That to me is probably the best part! πŸ™‚ (Well besides the 1100 calories I burned )

I was pretty proud of myself for just doing it and not stopping! It is definitely mind over matter and I fought the whole way. I wore these amazing leggingsΒ from Target and they were perfect for the run. They kept me warm and were super comfortable as far as chafing goes… And their only $20 right now πŸ™‚

The only thing I wanted after was a warm cup of coffee….!!!!!!!

I would say this is a pretty successful day so far… What is your favorite workout/running gear? Do you have any goals you are working towards for the rest of 2015?
