Stripes & Cognac

Happy Monday y’all!!!!

I hope your weekend was fabulous and refreshing! We had a little turn in the road when the hubby became super sick all day Friday! We actually had plans on going camping (which I was not too pumped about) but turns out, he had/still has the Flu & Strep!! He went to Urgent Care Saturday morning and they prescribed meds & gave him fluids. He was in bed all weekend so I did some cleaning and shopping, mainly to get out of the house! I snagged some pretty sweet kicks that I have been eyeing for awhile 🙂

Now on to today’s post…. Lately, a big go-to combo of mine has been stripes and cognac. I snagged this striped tee this past summer at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale at almost 50% off and am so happy I did. I pair it with everything, and I love adding it as a layer to sweaters or other prints. I have worn this cardigan so often to work lately and I am finding almost anything goes with it. The neutral color is perfect for the office or even paired with shorts for the warmer months.

I have also found the perfect faux leather leggings that I want to wear everywhere! I actually wore them to work one day last week and a co-worker mentioned how much she loved  them! The quality and the fit definitely make it seem like a luxury item when it actually falls under $50 You need it in your wardrobe ASAP! I paired them with my go-to leopard print sneakers and leopard scarf. I know I over-wear leopard print but its just an addiction! I cant get enough 🙂

What combo’s are you loving lately?

Layers with PinkBlush + Giveaway

Happy Friday!!!

Crazy week for me and I am so glad the weekend is here 🙂

There are some pieces that are essential to every wardrobe especially for winter months. I am all about the layers and tunics are definitely one of them. Their long length and flowy silhouette lend the perfect amount of comfort for everyday wear. What I love most about them is I can wear them with leggings or my favorite pair of distressed jeans. I wanted to show you two tunics that I fell in love with from a super cute online boutique called PinkBlush (could the name be anymore perfect?!). They target maternity styles that can that transition into the everyday mom wardrobe (no, there is no bun in the oven 🙂  ) The selection of adorable pieces is unlimited!!

Pink Blush Tunic

This layered tunic top is perfect for the winter months. I love the light brown color and asymmetrical hem. The pop of plaid makes this top versatile for the transition months. Pairing it with distressed jeans and booties keeps it feminine. I also wore my favorite choker necklace to add a hint of glam and it instantly dresses up the top. I already wore this piece to work with leggings and a sneakers and I was impressed at how easily it transitioned from a feminine outfit to a more casual and sporty look.

Leopard print tunic

This leopard hoodie has my name written all over it! Being an obsessive animal print lover, I have a new favorite tunic to add to my wardrobe! Everyone needs a little animal print in their life. To make it versatile, I added stripes underneath for some pattern mixing. I also added a yellow beanie to the mix for a pop of color!

Now for some exciting news,…. If you follow KingdomofSequins on Instagram, I am hosting a GIVEAWAY for one lucky winner who will receive a $50 gift card to PinkBlush! If you are in love with these layers or anything else from PinkBlush, then you should definitely enter the giveaway! Contest ends Sunday, 1/29!!

Have a great weekend babes!! 🙂

Macy’s Backstage

Happy Wednesday babes!

Why does it feel like the longest week?!? We are in the process of remodeling our office at work and it has been ONE heck of a project. Being the office manager, I am organizing/coordinating logistics and planning for it while trying to actually work and not lose my mind. It is INSANE how much goes into creating a work space for about 20 people. However, we are going to be one of the main “hubs” for training all over the nation. Soooooo what does that mean for me?… More work, more organizing, more catering, etc etc!

Enough about work, today I am excited to share a recent shopping experience. I teamed up with  Macy’s Backstage to check out their recently launched “outlet” inspired stores.  Macy’s Backstage represents a new venture for Macy’s and the concept is simple: Give the customer the glamour of the Macy’s shopping experience but with discount prices. Fashion, home goods, cosmetics, gifts, activewear, jewelry, luggage, toys and more are available at lower prices than one would normally pay. There only a limited number of locations in the US. I actually discovered the one in Ft Worth, which is about an hour from our home.

This outlet inspired store is super wide and very organized – if you already visited off price stores, you probably know that organization is not always mandatory. There is a wide variety of Women’s/Juniors/Mens/Kids clothing, lingerie, perfumes and cosmetics, bedding, bath and home lines, decorative items, shoes, handbags and other accessories. As far as the ladies clothing, there was a wide selection of name brand coats such as Nike, Columbia & Guess. Since it doesn’t get very cold here, I skipped over the outerwear section. I did look at the active wear and found some super cute leggings for running! And then I checked out tops and bottoms and found some great deals that I shared above. As for the Men’s section, they have dress shirts, blazers, basic T-shirts and underwear, everything from brands like Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Levi’s and Tommy Hilfiger. As you can see from the photos, the pieces are well made and are a fraction of the price! I definitely liked the decor section but if you watched my Insta-Stories, we did not get to stay long with an un-happy toddler. My hubby was walking him around the store while I shopped and he wanted to stay and play with the toys. Sorry buddy!

Macys Backstage

Snagged these beauties… The fringe is amazing!! – $30

Ridge wanted a picture too 🙂

These gold tinted booties were adorable and under $40. Of course they didnt have my size!

OBSESSED with this amazing bench! I wanted it for my vanity in our bathroom but it is a little too short to be able to sit comfortably…. but so cute!!

Found this amazing button up that is perfect with leggings or a long cardigan – $23!!

Loved this Rachel Roy Velvet Blazer! It was screaming my name… Unfortunately,  was a little too short in the back for my liking.

Macys Backstage

Snagged this adorable lace detail top for under $20!!

With time and patience, you can find a lot of cool stuff. I will definitely be going back for home decor!

Have you heard of Macys Backstage?

Happy Monday y’all!!! 🙂

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and since we don’t usually go all out for it, it always sneaks upon me. To get-ahead this year, I wanted to share some of my favorite Valentines Day gift ideas, for all the pretty babes in your life (A.K.A. what I’d love, ha!) As far as our plans, we usually just have dinner together at a favorite place to eat (just us) but since Ridge is getting older we like to include him in our “outings” (so romantic I know)… I mean, its on a Tuesday so hey you never know… “Goin up… on a Tuesday!!’ 🙂

Do you have plans for Valentine’s Day? Will you have a hot date with your significant other, a girl night in watching re-runs or maybe a girls night out on the town?

Let me know in the comments!

Faux Leather Fleece Vest

Faux Shearling Vest

Happy Friday!!! I am so ready for the weekend and to “try” and get some chill time on the couch. I already know that’s not going to happen 🙂

When stepping outside daily requires bundling up in your coziest layers, switching things up and having fun with your wardrobe can get tricky. How many different coats does a gal really need? I’m always on the lookout for winter weather accessories that I can switch up  easily… That’s why I got so excited when I spotted this oversized faux shearling vest for $10!!!! Something fresh and new that I haven’t worn/seen in a million different ways already.

The over-sized asymmetrical cut makes this vest extra cozy, like wrapping yourself in a cloud (cliche, I know, I know, but try it on and you’ll agree). Initially, I was concerned it was going to be too long or bulky and my stocky frame doesn’t do well with bulky, but I was so pleased when I unboxed it. It was perfectly fitting for this sweater. I have worn it with denim and over a slightly more fitted dress – all looks were fantastic! I paired it with my favorite cream sweater, black leggings (similar, similar) and fringe booties to balance out the look. You can expect to see this vest here on the blog a ton more times this season!
