Spring Staple: Button Down Top

Happy Friday Friends!!!

I am taking it easy this morning and recovering from a fun blogger event last night. I had a blast at the Buddy Love social in Dallas with some of my local blogging friends. It was great to get out and meet some other local influencers in the area and get to do some fun shopping!

On to today’s post….

What is the one essential wardrobe piece in every girl’s closet? … The button down shirt.  I wanted to share one of my favorite tops that it definitely a closet staple of mine. It is the perfect top to go from day to night.

Every season, designers reinvent this essential workplace staple and this season we get some pretty cool button downs that are NOT just made for the office. Oh and stripes are hot this spring so sometimes you can even get 2 for 1! The striped button-down is a classic closet staple and the perfect canvas for a variety of truly chic looks. From office appropriate with a pencil skirt to tied up with a maxi or worn with a bit of menswear flair (not to mention black tie, metallics, and head-to-toe white!), the possibilities are endless.

I wanted to stick with the casual look and pair it with my favorite cutoffs. These sandals are from TJ Maxx and super comfy. I recently found this bucket bag at Charming Charlie and it just sold out! (Sad face)…. I linked a similar one that goes great with any outfit!

Hope y’all have a fabulous weekend!

Brittany 🙂

Happy Monday Friends!!

I hope all of you had a great Easter weekend! We were busy with tee ball Saturday then enjoyed some nice patio weather and finished the day with some egg hunting with the neighborhood! Easter Sunday we spent at my aunts house with more egg hunting and our annual water gun fight! I actually got soaked this year and wore a white dress (insert emoji monkey covering eyes) YIKES! Thankfully I could air dry real quick lol – It was a much needed weekend of fun!

Today, I wanted to share this super cute OTS top I snagged from Buddy Love! It has the cutest bell sleeve detail and is the perfect length. I went for a more casual vibe so I paired it with my favorite white jeans (under $60) and the best wedges ever!!! And let me tell you about this bag! I eyeballed this super cute boutique in Playa that had the most amazing leather handbags. Being real leather, I didnt want to drop a lot of cash on a bag but I kept going back and looking at this particular one. I finally put it back and told the guy “No Thanks”, but to my surprise, my husband had already bought it. And y’all, he never really does things like that so I was overly excited! (not hatin just being real 🙂 It is probably my favorite thing from the trip!

I linked similar styles below because it is just too fabulous not to share more!!!

I hope y’all have an awesome week!

Crown and Ivy for Spring

Hey Friends! Hope y’all had a fabulous weekend!

We had some pretty amazing weather so we spent lots of time outside. I am trying to get this pale body ready for Mexico so I spent a little “extra” time outside soaking up the Texas sun. I need to do this everyday to get any good color 🙂

I recently had the opportunity to work with Belk and one of their popular brands Crown and Ivy! They incorporates a modern twist on the classic southern styles. What I LOVE about the line is it is FULL of versatile pieces, lady like dresses, and even some bold patterns. The fabrics are gorgeous, they’re all clearly well made, and they really epitomize modern southern style. I love wearing a great pair of shorts in the summer. Especially scalloped shorts with an amazing print. Stripes are always a win in my book and these red striped shorts are no exception. The fabric is so lightweight and comfortable. I’m obsessed with the scalloped detail. I paired it with my favorite chambray top and my go-to converse sneakers. It was the perfect outfit for a day of shopping!

The next look features the cutest and most comfy eyelet tank. Its the perfect top for shorts or bright colored jeans! And did I mention its super comfy!! I paired it with my favorite dark rinse denim shorts and a lightweight cardigan that has been on repeat the last couple of weeks!

Casual Meets Glam – Stripes & Chambray

Chambray & stripes

Striped Skirt / Chambray Top / Black Heels / Necklace

I hope y’all had a great weekend! Ours was filled with bday parties, tee-ball games, baby showers and lots of blogging!! Yesterday, I took over The Blog Bar‘s Instagram and shared some blogging tips and how I spend my Sunday’s… It was great to collab with other bloggers and sort of get a feel for how a bigger blogging platform operates! Y’all should definitely follow their account! There are always new and fresh blogging tips, tools and great bloggers to follow!

Now on to today’s post!! It’s hard to beat chambray and stripes, don’t you think? They’re two classics that will never go out of style.

A patterned A-line skirt like this will go for MILES in my closet. The fit and design makes it so versatile! I can keep it casual with this chambray shirt and statement necklace or I can pair it with a black top and make it look more like a dress. I wanted to add a little touch of glam for more of a dressed up look so I paired it with my favorite ankle-strap heels. You can also wear it with tights and a blazer in the fall, and a long sleeve shirt and booties in the spring. The options never end.

Hope y’all have a great week!

Brittany 🙂
