Blogger Happy Hour

Happy Friday! We made it y’all!

I never thought I would see this day… I have been pretty much hating life all week due to this viral infection. I was told I was “borderline” strep but all strep tests came back negative. Basically, you have it but dont get prescribed any meds. So it just has to run its course which to me is WAY worse! Luckily, I think I am on the mends and coming out it farely quickly. I havent had a drink in a week which is a long time for this momma lol

On to todays post, I wanted to share a fun blogger happy hour we had a couple weeks ago. I wanted to get a group of Dallas Blogger Momma’s together to celebrate each other “kid free”!!! I love all of these babes and I am so glad they were all up to meet up and have some drinks. I wanted to get together at one of my favorite places in Dallas, HG Supply. They are known for their rooftop patio and happy hour drinks. THE BEST!!! And let me tell you, the drinks for this event didnt disapoint!!!

It was such a fun night full of laughs, pretty ladies and lots of yummy drinks flowing! Its always a good idea to get the momma’s out of the house and around a fun atmosphere like HG Supply!

I cant brag enough about HG Supply Co. It has the best views and is the perfect spot for all the girls to gather around and gossip. And with Mothers Day around the corner, it is the perfect place to bring Mom and enjoy the view of Dallas. I know I will be enjoying Sunday with a beverage and a patio.

I hope you have a great weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mommies!!!

Do you have plans for Mothers Day?

Cinco De Mayo Inspo

So one of my favorite holidays is coming up and I am already full of excitement!!! I know that for some of you ladies, this is one of the merriest and most festive occasions for the year so it’s important that you celebrate this day and have fun. Aside from that, it’s important that you look good while you’re at it, too! Today, I want to share some festive Cinco de Mayo outfit ideas that might help you dress the part.

Y’all, I am dying over ALL of these pieces! I literally have every single one in my “virtual cart” and want to hit CHECKOUT as soon as possible! The pom pom and tassel trend just gives me life! I will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo with some margaritas and of course sporting something festive. Any excuse to eat tacos and wear bright colors is a win in my book! Bring in the New Year in Style

Hello Friends!

I am back from a much needed Christmas break and sad it is over! Why can’t we just Christmas ALL YEAR!?!?

With that being said, Christmas has come and gone and we’re already closing out December! And as such, it’s about that time to start thinking about your New Years Eve plans and figuring out what your night’s going to look like. For those of you who already know you’re going to end up at some sort of party (versus a laid back event), I’ve  got some fun and flashy New Years Eve outfit ideas to help you start thinking of options. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite sparkles and pops of color in today’s post. There are even shoe and accessory suggestions to help you find the perfect outfit to wear while ringing in the new year.

I have linked everything below to shop! 🙂

6 things I’ve Learned So Far… Birthday Edition

Happy Monday!!!

Since it’s my b-day (WHOOP WHOOP), I figured I’d compile a little list of some of the most important things I’ve learned thus far. There are so many things about my 20s that were incredible, and I learned so so so much. Cheers to this past year being one I’ll never forget! Toasting to 31 and making it another year to remember 🙂

So here’s what I got:

1.) THERE WILL ALWAYS BE HATERS, EMBRACE IT & KEEP IT MOVIN

Honestly, this is number one for a reason. We’ve all been criticized at one time or another. You gotta do what you gotta do, & either way someone, somewhere will have something to say. Bloggers are always putting themselves out there so is always constant criticism. You gotta shake it off and always do what you love to do!

2.) BUDGET

Ughhhh this is one of those things they need to teach in college. My tip…download a budgeting app on your phone or use the envelope system. Also, it’s okay to have a credit card. You may just have to learn the hard way like I did that it’s not free money to go shopping all the time :/

3.) DON’T BE AN ASSHOLE

We’ve all been there. You are in a hurry getting Starbucks so you mouth off to the barista. The line at Target is a mile long so you complain to the manager and have “that moment.” You go off at the post office worker because your box is not the correct one… You know asshole moments! Being a bitch is nasty. Patience has become my very best friend, especially after having kids. Smile, be gracious, be kind, & be humble.

4.) YOU NEVER KNOW…

Don’t judge until you’ve walked in someone’s shoes. People assume they know everything about me because a lot of my life is documented through social media. I have had some folks say some pretty mean things without knowing anything about me. There will always be haters and I knew that coming into the blogging world. But don’t judge a book by its cover because you never know. Life online looks flawless, #blessed, & glamourous. Always be kind to everyone no matter the circumstance… Appreciate the small things 🙂

5.) YOU CANNOT CHANGE PEOPLE.

This is PROBABLY THE HARDEST THING EVER FOR ME. For years I would try to control the outcome of family drama, friendships, work, etc. This year I’ve realized that ‘it is, what it is’. Me trying to control the situation & change people into something they’re not is counterproductive & pointless. You can get what you can get, or you don’t. Life isn’t fair or unfair, unless you cultivate that— focus on moving forward & don’t worry about what other people are doing…remember as Bethenny Frankel said “stay in your own lane!”

6.)  TRY SOMETHING NEW,  ALWAYS

I feel that mixing it up on your blog keeps things interesting and as a blogger and blog reader myself, I know I prefer reading blogs that cover an array of different topics. If you feel like your fashion or beauty blog is becoming a bit dull, why not introduce a new topic? People love newness and generally enjoy seeing people dipping their toes into unusual and interesting subjects. I’ve said this a million times before but you can blog about anything and everything. Whatever your interests are, you can make a blog out of it. Don’t be afraid to try something out for a while and if you feel like it hasn’t taken off, it’s okay to pull back from it – at least you gave it a go!

Obviously this is a list of things that I need to work on daily because I’m not perfect by any means & need daily reminders. Really, it just kind of helps to write these reminders down! I’m not preaching, just sharing…again, do what works for you!

Off to celebrate!! Now, lets pop the CHAMPS!!!! 🙂

Happy Monday & Columbus Day!!! The weekend continues today for me (thankfully)  Yay for company holidays 🙂

As a little tomboy, I looked forward to game days like most people look forward to Christmas, whether we we watching the game at the stadium or from home. Game day was always a huge production at our house. When it comes to game day fashion, I am all over the map. For most events I dress in whatever I am feeling the best in at that moment. Game day is no exception.

Your game day apparel is a lot more versatile than just something you would wear to the game. Of course to represent your alma mater, a comfy tee is a must. The VS PINK store has a fabulous selection for college game day gear. I attended college in Cincinnati and danced on the field for game day’s. Being festive and representing my school colors is important to keep the spirit alive. Pairing with comfy jean shorts and easy slip on booties keeps it cool for those hotter games. For a casual day outfit, a little accessorizing goes a long way. Adding a light layer like a long-sleeve shirt or jacket and a game-day hat immediately adds a little something extra to your look.

Of course the celebration isn’t complete without some cold beverages & food! If you have not tried LaCroix Water yet, your tastebuds are missing out! The tasty sparkling water flavors are all derived from the natural essence oils extracted from the named fruit. LaCroix has introduced tons of new-ish flavors including mango and passionfruit, and taller, skinnier cans called LaCroix Cúrate that are available in exotic blends, Cerise Lémon (my favorite), Piña Fraise, and Muré Pepino. These bubbly beverages are a reward in a can that aren’t full of sugar, sodium and chemicals like soda and diet soda. Not bad for a beverage that was originally made in Wisconsin’s very own LaCrosse. That’s a WIN-WIN in my book!
