Today’s post is all about the makeup. I was asked on my Instagram to make a post about my daily makeup routine including an eyeshadow tutorial and my light pinky lip. This is my step by step makeup process with photos of each step…. Ignore the poor photo quality selfies 🙂

These are my everyday, holy grail products that make me feel comfortable, confident and can easily take me from day to night if needed. So, here it is….

STEP 1: Prep the skin

I start off my routine with skincare. Right now I am currently using Neutrogena Acne Control Toner, Ole Hendricksen Skin Brightener & Loreal Revita-lift Moisturizer.

STEP 2: Prime the skin

I then follow with Nivea Shave Balm for my primer. I have tried several other primers but this is the holy grail for me. My makeup lasts all-day, even through any late day workouts. To enhance my under eye highlight, I apply Smashbox Under-Eye Primer.

STEP 3: Correct & Conceal

I use Maybelline Age Rewind concealer in a triangle shape under my eyes to really help brighten up my face. I also use it to highlight a bit on my chin, around my nose and any other red spots around my face.

STEP 4: Set & Mix Foundation

image

I take a little bit of my favorite liquid bronzer on the back of my hand, then use one pump of my go-to foundation and mix them together. I also love this foundation because it has SPF 20! Perfect for everyday use or pool days! Then, blend away!

I use my favorite Makeup Forever Blending Brush to really work it into my skin and help it look like a natural sun-kissed glow.

STEP 5: Bronzer

image

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is my absolute favorite bronzer at the moment. It’s so affordable and smells amazing! It leaves my skin looking so airbrushed and soft. If you are on the more oily side like me, use it to set your entire face! It’s really finely milled, beautiful and doesn’t look cakey at all!

STEP 6: Highlight & Set

The new Loreal Visible Lift CC Eye Concelear is the newest innovation in anti-aging makeup. This multi-action concealer has a roller application to help with extra coverage. I blend with my beauty blender around the eye area, forehead, chin and center of the nose. It’s my everyday go-to concealer especially when my day is busy and I can not reapply.

I set the concealer with one of my all time, holy grail setting powdersCoty Airspun Loose Powder. You may recognize this product as something your grandmother used back in the day. That is exactly how I remember it….  This affordable, loose face powder can be used to hide tiny lines, wrinkles, and blemishes to give a flawless finish. I use it to help set concealers or highlight because of the tints that are spread throughout, which are made to lay flat and evenly on the skin. This can also be used for baking.

STEP 7: Contour & Sculpt

image

Now I am a firm believer in using all my products to their fullest so for contouring, I use my Elf Contour Kit priced at $6. I use my Smashbox Contour Kit for special occasions.

image

I use my Qivance contour brush to bronze my cheekbones, forehead and chin.

image

Then I take a smaller, angled brush to contour my nose.

I will either use my real techniques buffing brush or MAC kabuki brush to blend everything together.

STEP 8: Highlight & Blush

 image

To highlight and make my cheeks shine, I use the Elf Concealer/Highlighter Duo and blend with my beauty blender. This highlighter has a little bit of shimmer which I am totally obsessed with. If I am wanting more shimmer, I will use my mack-daddy Marc Jacobs Glow Stick. I try to use it very sparingly since it is a little pricier.

After I blend the highlight, I apply some blush to my cheeks. I am big on blushes! I guess this is the dancer in me 🙂 I use Urban Decay Afterglow 8 hour powder blush in the color Quickie. I apply a dab to the apples of my cheeks. I love it because a little bit goes a long way. 🙂

Step 9: Eyes

image

I use the ELF Eye Primer  to help set my eye-shadow and keep it nice and complex.

image

image

For eyes, no doubt my favorite palette to use both day and night is Morphe 35 Palette in Warm, bought at a very affordable price of $19.99. The 35 count eye-shadow palette colors are super soft and easy to blend. You can create a natural or dramatic look with these highly pigmented colors. A little goes a long way 🙂

Step 10: Eyeliner & Mascara

image

Are you seeing a trend yet? I am a huge ELF fan and have at least one of their products for every category! I mean you cant beat the price for legit products.

image

Occasionally, I like to line my eyes with thick, long wings but for my everyday makeup I keep it simple with subtle winged eyeliner. I use ELF Eyeliner bought at a very affordable price of $2!!! What?!?! This stuff lasts forever too!

image

My holy grail, everyday mascara is the Rimmel ScandalEyes in Black. I also use Better Than Sex & Dior Extase Mascara‘s on special occasions but honestly, the Rimmel mascara lasts all day and never clumps. To complete the eyes, I apply my NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk to the inner corners of my eyes. This really brightens up the eyes.

Step 11: Eyebrows

image

image

As far as eyebrows go, I have played around with so many different products. Right now, I use the ELF Lift & Fill Brow Pencil but only to lift and align my brows. To go along with using my products for multiple uses, I also like to play with the medium shade on the Morphe 35 palette to fill in my eyebrows with a slightly damp angled brush. I then go back and fill in my brows with the ELF brow pencil. For special occasions, I pull out my favorite eyebrow product, Anastasia Brow Pomade.

Step 12: Touch of Shimmer

image

image

To give my face a little shimmer, I use this Urban Decay Illuminater all over my face with a fluffy brush. A little sparkle of this on your cheeks and neck looks so pretty in the sunlight. Its like fairy dust and the shades a beautiful warm iridescent.

Step 13: Finish it off

image

image

You cant forget about the lips…. I topped it off with NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Cream in Sydney. It’s my absolute perfect shade and has been a total go-to lately. I set my makeup with NYX Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray.  I used the Urban Decay De-Slick spray for a while but it didn’t hold my oil for a long time. I have super oily skin and this does the job to help keep my makeup on and not letting much oil seep through my makeup. Very inexpensive, I definitely recommend this spray!

Can we just go ahead and walk around with this Snapchat filter all the time please?!?!
