Craving Fall + The Best OTK Boots

How is it already the last week of August?!?!

With that being said, I cant help but crave all things FALL! I am more of a “chilly morning, crisp air, hot latte, oversized sweater, cozy booties” kind of gal. I tried really hard to love this summer weather but when you live in straight 100 degree humidity, its hard to not crave cooler weather! And if I am being really honest, I actually decorated the house with all the fall decor and might have played Christmas music while putting it out! #sorrynotsorry

But I did want to send prayers to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Watching the coverage on tv has been so heart breaking seeing neighborhoods and businesses under water. I can not even imagine what these people are going through. I have friends in the Houston area that are all ok and not affected by the flooding but I do continue sending prayers for everyone to stay safe.

Today’s post is all about an easy transition outfit from summer to fall.

Casual Metallics

Monday, we meet again! I hope y’all had an amazing Mothers Day weekend with all your family and friends. I had such a great day yesterday being “pampered” with a makeover from my son, brunch with family and of course a fun trip to Target! Couldnt think of a better day 🙂

I have been loving the warmer weather lately and wanted to share these metallic shorts that I cant stop wearing!

casual metallic shorts

Shorts // Chambray Top // Sneakers // Clutch // Hair Band

When I first found these shorts, I knew I HAD to have them. Metallic, silver & pockets??….I will take five pairs!!! I have already worn them several times and every time someone stops to ask where I got them! AND they are under $20!!

I initially wore an oversized sweater back in March but totally forgot to snap some photos. With the warmer weather, they will still be on repeat and can be styled so many different ways! For a more casual look, I paired them with my favorite chambray top. This pink clutch adds a pop of color and of course you cant go wrong with a touch of leopard print. I spent the day shopping so the hair was up for the day. Another touch of leopard print never hurts so I slid on my go-to headband!

I also styled them awhile back with this amazing graphic tee! This tee couldn’t explain my motto in life more perfectly!!

I hope y’all have an amazing week babes!!

Steal Staple #3 – Gap Sweater

I recently made a trip to the mall for makeup and found one of the most perfect sweaters. Of course I told myself I wasn’t going to look at clothes but when I start telling myself “I will just look…” sometimes the results end with four new bags of clothes. Oops 🙂

I actually didn’t really shop for new winter clothes this year (I do live in Texas) so I wanted to add some new staples to my wardrobe. The Gap was having a winter sale so I went in to browse…. And found the most amazing sweater!!!! I have linked it below:

Women’s Cowlneck Sweater

It literally is long enough to wear with leggings or even knee high boots. Super comfy and cozy, it kept me warm on a 40 degree day. I added a scarf for a pop of color but it came off by the afternoon when it warmed up. I love the grey color as it will go with anything!

I would literally live in this sweater if it were colder here but it has been in the 60s or 70s almost everyday. I kinda cant complain since it has been pretty nice but the struggle is real when you are a sweater lover.

Have you found any awesome steals lately? How is the weather where you live?

Cozy Winter Poncho

I am loving all things winter but when the average temperature in Texas is 60* its hard to sport the heavy duty winter wardrobe. Don’t get me wrong, the mornings are pretty chilly but by the end of the day I am usually warm. I recently found the perfect cape from ASOS  that is amazing and affordable! It keeps me warm in the morning and is super easy to take off by the end of a 60 degree day………AND its on sale for under $25!!! Such a steal!

I have also linked some similar styles I found that are fabulous!

Grey Black Woman Loose Cape – SheInside $23

Fringe Sweater Cape – Banana Republic $70

Black and Grey Poncho – Lulu’s $48

What are some of your favorite go-to winter pieces? Are you into the cape/poncho style or do you prefer a coat?
