Crown and Ivy for Spring

Hey Friends! Hope y’all had a fabulous weekend!

We had some pretty amazing weather so we spent lots of time outside. I am trying to get this pale body ready for Mexico so I spent a little “extra” time outside soaking up the Texas sun. I need to do this everyday to get any good color 🙂

I recently had the opportunity to work with Belk and one of their popular brands Crown and Ivy! They incorporates a modern twist on the classic southern styles. What I LOVE about the line is it is FULL of versatile pieces, lady like dresses, and even some bold patterns. The fabrics are gorgeous, they’re all clearly well made, and they really epitomize modern southern style. I love wearing a great pair of shorts in the summer. Especially scalloped shorts with an amazing print. Stripes are always a win in my book and these red striped shorts are no exception. The fabric is so lightweight and comfortable. I’m obsessed with the scalloped detail. I paired it with my favorite chambray top and my go-to converse sneakers. It was the perfect outfit for a day of shopping!

The next look features the cutest and most comfy eyelet tank. Its the perfect top for shorts or bright colored jeans! And did I mention its super comfy!! I paired it with my favorite dark rinse denim shorts and a lightweight cardigan that has been on repeat the last couple of weeks!

Festival Vibes

I think I have officially lost my mind this week!! Holy. Work. Overload!

Luckily, today’s Friday and I’m making myself work from home so I can actually sit down and answer all 300 (unopened) emails since Monday! Don’t get me wrong, I love my job but this girl needs a vaca!!

Enough about that… Today’s post is getting me excited for summer!!

Well, I don’t know if it is because of festival season, but I’m really into band tees these days #obsessed. And would y’all believe it if I told you this one is actually a boy’s hoodie… Shoutout to Target!! 🙂

Band Tee

The music band T-shirt trend was massive in the 90’s, it is absolutely coming back in the game. I actually have an over-sized Pink Floyd t-shirt I sleep in sometimes. They are just so comfy and make me feel cooler about myself wearing them 🙂

On one of my many Target shopping trips, I was browsing the kids section (probably my favorite section aka: “let me borrow your kid” Insta-Stories) this hoodie caught my eye! I saw this boys XL and thought about it for Ridge and then I totally wanted one for myself! Its super comfy and more sporty than anything. I have gone for a couple runs in it and wore it with leggings. My favorite is pairing it with these moto jeans that give it an edgy vibe. I pretty much live in these converse on the weekends running around town or being the chauffeur for Ridge! I brought it together with this black crossbody I found at Marshalls! Its goes with any outfit!

Do you have any throwback band tees?

I hope yall have a fabulous, relaxing weekend!!

St Patty’s Day Inspo

Happy Wednesday! Halfway there y’all…

With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner (on Friday, March 17 – yay, it’s on a Friday this year), it’s time to start planning that fun and creative outfit.  Although St. Patrick’s Day is generally a relaxed, fun celebration you spend hanging out and partying with friends, you can still be super cute and festive at the same time.

Any shade of green isn’t exactly the easiest color to wear, but you can always dress it up with a touch of sparkle or even adding some green accessories! I wanted to share some St. Patty’s Day outfit inspiration for anyone who is still questioning what to wear!

Ruffle Sleeves + OTK Boots

burgundy bell sleeves & otk boots

Wheeewwww!! Monday already!.. I am back from a long weekend of judging dance in Galveston! It is actually one of my favorite events so it doesnt seem to drag on but we had some bumps in the road on the way home so it made for a long(er) weekend! Not to mention we spring forward and lose an hour of precious sleep.. I got in late last night and up early this morning for our official OFFICE LAUNCH!! (Pray for me)…. Our office is finally ready to go LIVE and I couldnt be more excited!

Now on to today’s post:

Ruffle Sleeves give me life!!!

I can’t get enough of this top. It’s easy to wear so many ways…think suede skirt, distressed denim, even flares. I love it styled with distressed jeans and otk boots!  I was shocked when the sleeve length fit! I haven’t been able to find bell sleeves that werent too long to sit down and have a meal. Sizing runs true to side – maybe even on the smaller side.  I’m wearing size medium and it fits me well with a little room on the sides. The quality is amazing and you cannot beat the price. I paired it with these feather earrings I snagged at Charming Charlies on clearance! SCORE!

Are you loving the ruffle and bell sleeve trend?

Brittany 🙂

Oversized Sweaters & Cut-Offs

I thought we’d start this Friday off with an ensemble that is soon to be my go-to during these next couple of months… the easy, comfortable jean shorts + oversized sweater look.

Oversized sweater & cutoffs

I purchased this oversized-sleeved sweater during the Nordstrom sale last year, and it’s quickly become one of the most-worn pieces in my closet. I paired it with my go-to denim cutoffs (out of stock, similar, similar) and my favorite OTK boots for a laid back, bohemian vibe.

The finishing touch that brings this whole look together? A pair of fun, retro sunglasses! I am obsessed with the blue tint and have loved this trend the second I saw it. I wasnt sure if I could pull it off but I think it gives that hippie vibe. They work on every person I’ve seen them on! Of course, I had to add a great hat and one of my favorite chokers I have been loving.

It is a busy weekend for me as I am leaving later today to judge a dance competition in Galveston! Its long hours but its something I love doing! I have danced my whole life and it keeps my alive ( emotionally speaking…. Coffee & Diet Coke actually keep me awake 🙂 We actually go LIVE on Monday for our new remodeled office! Hoping I dont fall over from exhaustion 🙂

Do you have big plans for the weekend?

Brittany 🙂
