Beauty Favorites Lately

I am a little behind on the beauty department shares. I have been loving so many things but these are a few of my favorites!!! 🙂

KAT VON D Lock-IT Foundation: When I first used this product, it applied really thick and blotchy. Then I went back to using my usual foundation and noticed it wasnt lasting as long as this one did. I tried using it again and actually adding a tiny bit of water to help make it easier to apply. It totally helped and this stuff is amazing!

TARTE Make Believe In Yourself Palette: Most of you know I love anything with some sparkle. This stuff has the right amount of color and sparkle and is not overwhelming. It is also a cheek palette and the color lasts all day! Totally worth it!

KENRA Color Balance Purple Shampoo: I used this product daily for one week and had a noticeable change in my hair’s brassiness! I have always had heavy blonde highlights in my hair that turn brassy over time. I’ve tried several other products that I was less than satisfied with but this one definitely works! It smells great and doesn’t leave your hair feeling or looking greasy! I would recommend this to anyone that colors their hair blonde!

HOPE in a Jar Skin Tint: I have used Hope in a Jar for awhile now as my daily moisturizer. When I saw this version I was like “Bye Bye Pale Face”!!! Moisturizer + Bronzer = Amazing! I use this everyday as a primer before my foundation!

St. Tropez Self Tanner Mouse: Speaking of bronzer… this stuff has been my lifesaver for my see-through skin! I worked for a tanning salon for 5 years and would spray tan like every other day. GROSE! These days the spray tan solution are so much better than they used to be. The application and color of this stuff is so natural looking. No streaking or weird spots. Perfect for summer!

BED HEAD Flat Iron: My CHI finally went out after 10 years! I have no idea how it even lasted that long (or how I never lost it)… I heard so many great things about this one and it definitely does not disappoint. It heats up super fast and I only straighten each strand once! Game changer!

EMJOI Electric Razor: I received this from the company in return for a review and I was a little nervous to try it. I normally dont use electric razors for anything. I used it on my bikini line before we went to Mexico and it was really easy. (Kinda weird but definitely easier than regular shaving) It has 18 blades and doesnt leaves cuts or scratches. 🙂

BITE BEAUTY Lipstick:  I first got this lipstick from Influenster for testing purposes and fell in love. I had nt heard of the brand before but I love the quality so much. It literally lasts all day! The texture and the color are amazing. I love it!

I hope y’all have a fabulous weekend ladies!!!

Brittany 🙂

Favorite Beauty Products – February

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick

I have just recently branched out from my usual lipsticks and wanted to try the Urban Decay lip products. Y’all… they are good!!! I was so surprised at how highly pigmented the lipsticks are and the colou pay off. And y’all know I love my purple lippies and this one does not dissapoint!

L’Oreal Voluminous Super Star

ONE of my new favorite mascaras! I love the primer end of this one. If you build it up- your eyelashes will be SOOO long and so beautiful.

e.l.f. Blush Palette in Light

I use the bottom right color most often, but I will also use the two colors on the left when I feel like changing things up. I’ve also used the top right color to set my under eye highlight in the past. FUN FACT: Those little squares pop out, so if you wanted to buy the palatte in dark and light, you could move them around to mix and match your favorite colors into one pallet.

Clarins Double Serum Complete Age Control Concentrate

Heaven in a bottle!!! I absolutely love this product.. This is the number one selling Clarins products…on both sides of the pond! It has also helped with my pores 🙂

Moroccain Oil Hair Treatment

I’m a Moroccanoil fan! All of their products have been great for me. I use this on damp hair before blow drying and it helps smooth and add shine. I also use it to tame flyaways and frizz. I am happy with this product overall. The only downside is that especially if you use too much, it can leave the hair looking a little greasy after a long day.

TARTE Double-Ended Foundation Brush

This brush is a must have for anyone who likes an easy full coverage brush. The application is smooth and the finish is unbelievable! I’ve been stuck on the beauty blender for a while but this brush has taken its spot and then some for me! Also, I’ve been using it for a few months now and haven’t had any issues with the brush hairs falling out at all

The Wet Brush

The Wet Brush* is my go to for brushing my hair, whether it’s dry or wet. It’s a godsend. I remember using this as a little girl for dance competitions… GAME CHANGER!! No more tears during every outfit change! And now I re-introduced it to myself and I am so glad I did!

Have you tried any of these? What are some of you recent favorites?

Brittany 🙂

Beauty Favorites – January

Happy Wednesday babes….
Y’all… its February!! What?!?!
I can’t believe that we’ve already gone through an entire month in 2017.  Welcome to my very first monthly favorites post!  I wanted to start this new series in 2017 so that I can share with you the best products I’ve tried throughout the month.
Beauty Favs
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:  My new favorite lippie! Its long-lasting and high-pigment color makes my life so much simpler! It applies as a gloss but dries to a true matte finish. It comes in 28 colors according to Sephora! Yes please!!
Maybelline Master Probing Stick: Great for contouring…I’ve used both shades and love them equally.

Hot Tools Turbo Ionic Hair DryerThis has changed my hair drastically. I never paid attention to the damage hair dryers can cause to hair but this one sends ions into the airstream depositing them directly onto the hair. It helps break apart water molecules for faster drying. This has helped condition and soften my hair while reducing frizz.

Brow Stylist Definer in Blonde – I regularly use the Anastasia Brow Wiz eyebrow liner and needed a replacement in a pinch so I googled a good dupe for it and this L’Oreal pen came up. So far I’m really impressed with the quality – especially for the price! It doesn’t go on as well as the Anastasia one so you have to do a good job coloring in but the color and the size of the pen are almost identical.

Loreal Extraordinary Clay Mask: It really exists, and it’s ideal for those of us with chronically oily roots. Apply the mask before you shower, and then rinse. The blend of three clays absorb excess oil so you can redefine what it means to be squeaky clean.

Urban Decay Afterdark Eyeshadow PaletteUrban Decay does duo-tone shades like no one else, and this palette has six of them. This nighttime must-have also has six metallic shades all in jewel tones which are perfect for fun nights out with the girls.

Lorac Illuminating Primer: Instantly bring luminosity and life to your face while preserving your makeup throughout the day with LORAC Los Angeles Light Source 3-in-1 Illuminating Primer. This paraben-free, high-pearl primer is infused with light diffusing, soft focus pigments for a silky smooth, luminous glow.

Tula Overnight Rescue Cream:  Another game changer! I have really been trying to focus on bettering my skin and I started with Tula products. This is y far my favorite face cream to date. It works with your natural nightly repair process to reinvigorate skin overnight.

What are some beauty products you are loving lately?!?

March Favorites – Beauty

March Favorites

I had to round up some of my favorite beauty products with y’all… it has been awhile since I have done a beauty post. These are just a few of the products I am loving or obsessing over at the moment. I went a little crazy at Ulta last month but it was totally worth it!

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation –  Soft Beige, $5.99 Target

When it comes to foundations, “matte” is my buzzword. Any indication that a foundation is matte has me running to the nearest store to swatch and smother all over my oily-skinned face . The Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation is one of those products. In addition to its mattifying claims, it’s also supposed to be oil-free and ultra-light weight (hence being called a “mousse”). My first thought when applying this foundation was something along the lines of… “Holy Coverage!” If the Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation is anything, it’s ultra high-coverage. Yes, it 100% covers all the flaws on my skin. Also true to its claims, the foundation is very light-weight. When applying, it feels super soft and airy. I love that it lasts all day on my skin.

NARS Mini Blush/Bronzer Duo, $24 Sephora

I have been looking for the perfect blush/bronzer mixture to do two jobs at once. I have minimal time in the morning to do an entire contour so the bronzer does that for me. The bronzer is amazing and you don’t even need to apply much in order to get the perfect contour, in this case less really is more. The mirror is also handy, it’s small so there’s no need to carry a compact mirror around. Also, both products last all day, and I don’t find myself re-applying throughout the day. I ordered this product online at Sephora for $24.

Nivea Mens Post Shave Balm – Primer, $7 Target

Yes, I know I am probably late to the game on this one but it is literally like the best steal EVER! I always get really giddy when someone in the beauty community finds a product that is versatile and multi-use. Several beauty bloggers found this product and raved about it working as an incredible makeup primer. I of course, ran to the drugstore to try it for myself and I found it to be major. The Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm is designed to soothe irritation on a man’s face after shaving. Let me tell you, this product doubles down as one of the best face primers I have ever used. You get 3.3oz of product for just under $7.00, making this a major beauty bargain. A small amount of product goes a long way. The product itself looks and feels like a lotion, but it is very lightweight. Upon applying it to your skin, you feel a light cooling effect that is not only super soothing but incredible for waking your skin up in the morning! It absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling really nourished and silky smooth AND it smells amazing! 🙂

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, $54 Sephora

First impression: WOW! I have been literally avoiding this product because I knew I was going to find a similar palette for much cheaper but its not about the money at this point… so far I have not been disappointed by it. The 12 all-new neutrals, all of which have rose tones, come in UD’s typically soft, easy-to-blend formula (and matte, pearl and glimmering metallic finishes). Sure, that means there’s some fallout, but on the flip-side, the shadows are ridiculously easy to blend, and if you do your eyes first, clean up, and continue with your face makeup, it’s all good. And, it should last forever 🙂

NYX White Pencil (Strawberry Milk), $5 Ulta

“The perfect soft, highlight to brighten up your eyes”… easily summed up! NYX is a fairly reasonable priced brand so if you are looking for eyeshadow bases, you could do a lot worse than these pencils, not to mention they come in a wide array of shades. I love the strawberry milk hue because of the shimmer it puts off. The regular “milk” color is a little too white for my taste. As far as longevity, I didnt have to reapply this product all day. If you applied powder eyeshadow on top of it, it would probably last longer. This pencil is versatile as you can use these as an eyeshadow, eyeliner and depending on the shade as a highlighter.
NYX Butter Lipstick, $6 Ulta

You have no idea how long I’ve been trying to find this lippie! Since way back when NYX first launched the matte lipsticks, every time I would hit up my local beauty supply or make a quick trip to Ulta it was always sold out. Every single time. But I didn’t give up. I would hopefully peek at a NYX display in any store that had one…you never know right? Well a few weeks back I FINALLY found it and scooped it up with a quickness. My wait is over and well worth it. I love this color!! I have a few other colors in the NYX Soft Matte Lipsticks but this is hands down my favorite. It looks a lot darker in the tube than I originally expected and if you’re lighter it will definitely pull darker on you, but the deep berry color makes it very wearable for me. I wouldn’t call it a daily wear but it’s a great color to pop on if you want to add some color without being too dark and bold.

ELF Lotion Wipes, $1 Target

This is the first time I’ve ever tried lotion body wipes, so I have nothing to compare it too, but I’m sure it’s like any other makeup wipes. It feels very moist and has a light lotion feel to it. I use these to wipe my makeup off if I am not showering the night before. I can not stand the smell of regular baby wipes since they remind me of wiping my son’s bottom as a baby lol – these have a coconut and vanilla scent which is refreshing! They are not sticky or too wet. You can not beat the price for a pack of wipes… $1!!

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Finishing Cream, $12 Ulta

finishing cream
I have been using this product since college… no joke! It is the only product that doesn’t make my hair feel greasy or heavy after I apply. John Frieda recently updated the packaging of their products and I love it. I do not use the shampoo/conditioner as it does not do much for my hair but the styling products are legit. I use the finishing cream after I straighten my hair. I apply a pea-size amount to my hands, rub them together and then finger it throughout my hair. It smells amazing and helps to tame those frizzy flyaways.

Mark Hill Turn Up The Heat Extreme Heat Protection Spray, $5 Ulta

Mark Hill Turn Up The Heat Protection Spray

I love using a heat protection spray before I blow dry my hair and this product helps protect it, but also works amazingly at smoothing down the lengths and ends of my hair. I’ve been really impressed with it and love how smooth and tangle free it leaves my hair. It also helps create a really smooth blow dry and I can actually feel how soft it’s making my hair each time I use it. I only have it in the 50ml version, but I will definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out! It also makes the curling process easier because my hair tends to get softer. It smells really good too! I also love the spray of the bottle. The nozzle is different from other heat protection spray.

Golden Globe Favorites

Another year, another award show! The Golden Globes is one of my favorite award shows as far as the celebrity guest list. I love the fashion, presenters and the talent that is always in the room. If you missed it last night, it was probably one of the best awards shows I have watched in awhile.

Amy Shumer and Jennifer Lawrence are probably my favorite duo of 2016…..

Eva Longoria and America Ferrera were hilarious about introducing themselves with their correct titles. Being called other actresses names who look very similar isnt always a bad thing since they are all smoking hott!!! 🙂 Eva’s dress was one of my favs also….

The skits were pretty funny but the acceptance speeches were even better!!!

Tarajj P won Best Actress for Drama series and let everyone know she was going to take her time thanking everyone lol…. She also passed out cookies to everyone on her way to the stage in honor of her name on the show…. Love her! 🙂

I honestly did not see one fashion flaw or dress that I did not like… Everyone was dressed to the nines and looked amazing! I did have my favs for sure….

I am OBSESSED with Kate Winslet at all times!!!! She is flawless no matter what she wears or what she is doing…. I am a HUGE Titanic fan so seeing her just makes me happy! And seeing her with Leonardo makes me even more happy 🙂

Speaking of Titanic…. my total obsession last night was Leonardo Dicaprio!!!!! I mean, you can not get more perfect than this…

Everyone is talking about how he looked at Lady Gaga when she walked up to the stage for her award… This was actually pretty funny but some people did not think so :/

To me, it looked like she was being a little flirty trying to get by and he didn’t know how to react. His acceptance speech for Best Actor made me love him even MORE!!!

What a show….. There were so many more awesome moments but these were my favorites of the night!

What were some of your favorite moments? Who’s dresses did you just obsess over?
